Still you are leaving
for Australia, leaving a void
of loneliness—and how many days
could I endure your absence?

Extra-sensory perception
of days, months or perhaps years
of boredom and longing—
an abyss that my aching soul
could not fanthom.

Even time may fail to heal
the undetected wound
in my heart, in my mind
and in my soul
inflicted by your departure
in the night
where young dreams metamorphosed
into nightmares.
