AGONY FROM A MARBLE CROSS

I am tired
very tired
I want to rest
(requiescat in pace?)
I am tired
very tired

‘twas a long journey
bethlehems are pitfalls
and thorns to man-made calvary
where the cross is steel
and marble, carved out
of petty rivalries,
of dissappoinments
and frustrations
of my passions.

The christ in me
no longer is God
it is now a man whose endurance
has its limits
and is very tired
after the pains and labor
of its crucifixion
by a pilate world.
